Our Bylaws
PRCL Bylaws
The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) has updated their Bylaws template and since PRCL Bylaws have not been revised since 2014, we were due for a refresh! Thank you to our Bylaw Committee who put in the extra effort to revise our Bylaws. The PRCL Board has reviewed and supports the Draft Bylaws and is in favour of recommending to membership.
The draft Bylaws will be officially presented and voted on by membership at our AGM on Wed, June 12 @ 6:30 pm at the Central Lions Recreation Centre (Room 4).
To summarize the changes:
- All members of the board are elected at the AGM; however, uncontested positions will be voted on as a group while contested positions will be voted on separately
- All positions will be voted on for two year-terms; an individual can hold the same position for a total of three terms (a resolution can be made to nominate a Director for an additional term)
- Meeting types and definitions have been more clearly explained
- Duties of the four officers and expectations for all board members have been modified and clarified
- Membership types have been defined
- Roles of the executive, audit and nomination committee have been more thoroughly explained
- The dispute resolution process has been provided
- The voting rights of general membership have been amended to reflect current best practices
