PRCL Local Book Now Available!

Hank and Other Mild Neighbours is a local publication (Pagemaster Publishing, situated in the historic Grinnell Warehouse) with vignettes about neighbours based on childhood recollections and intuitions, authored by PRCL Resident Janet Hamilton!

This book aims to bring awareness to the City of Edmonton 107 Avenue Revitalization Project. The plan is to develop improvements to this core roadway from 101st Street to 122nd Street to help enhance community connections and mitigate some of the current social issues causing concern.  The project will follow the guidelines of CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), and construction is predicted to begin in the spring of 2025. The Central McDougall and Queen Mary Park segment of 107th Avenue is described by some within the community as where the world meets in Edmonton.

This book, however, also includes recollections of Prince Rupert, as the author believes it is also a core community. The author highlights the Central Lions Seniors Association, Blatchford Village, and the Aviation Museum. On Page 65, Prince Rupert is referred to as a "Living Village."

There have already been two book launches, the first one at the QMP Community League Building and the second at CLSA Cuppa Corner. The book can be found on the Pagemaster Website for $12.00 or can be purchased as an e-book for $9.99 on Amazon.ca under the book search. The author has also kindly placed bookmarks in the Free Library!
